This week on What the Frock?, Rabbi Dave and Friar Rod serve up a piping hot episode filled with scandal, sarcasm, and something nobody asked for — a world leader offering to show his penis to a religious figure. Yes, that actually happened. Welcome to Armenia, where political discourse has taken a hard left turn into the bizarre.
This alone would be enough for an episode, but the frocked duo marches on.

They turn their attention to the recent U.S. bombing of Iranian nuclear facilities. Speculation abounds about whether Iran was warned in advance, whether the Israelis had a hand in the targeting, and whether the Ayatollah is hiding or just biding his time. The boys explore it all with a blend of Cold War cynicism and Clancy-esque curiosity, reminding us that even the most precise strikes are part of a much messier game.
The conversation shifts again, this time to American sports culture, where ESPN forced a commentator to apologize for saying, “That’s what makes America great.” Her crime? Expressing an opinion that involved freedom and disagreement. It is the kind of forced contrition that makes the phrase “land of the free” feel more and more ironic.
Texas has passed a law mandating warning labels on processed foods that include additives banned in the EU, Australia, and Canada. This, inspired by Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s “Make America Healthy Again” plan, gets the full sarcastic treatment from both hosts. As they point out, nobody buying Doritos is under the impression that they are health food. These new warnings are not only unnecessary, they are also filled with loopholes and contradictions.
To top it off, Chinese researchers have linked instant coffee to macular degeneration. Rabbi Dave, a frequent drinker of instant coffee, is understandably unimpressed. The chemical in question, acrylamide, turns out to be present in pretty much everything that tastes good. So much for that health panic.
The episode wraps up with a conversation about old comedies that have not aged well, the politics of progressive eyeglasses, and a renewed appreciation for the anarchic joy of Airplane! and The Blues Brothers.
If you enjoy current events served with irreverence, old-school sarcasm, and a healthy dose of theological whiplash, this episode is not one to miss. It is funny, it is smart, and it might make you think twice about offering proof of your faith on Facebook.
This weeks theme and bumper were inspired by Armenia and one of the best street performance bands Rabbi Dave has ever heard, The Blasting Company.
